主辦世界撲克大賽的官員宣布，已有30人承諾參加「一滴水大戰」（Big One for One Drop）撲克大賽，冠軍獎金1230萬元，比2006年8700人參加的1萬元一注撲克大賽冠軍得主高德（Jamie Gold）贏得的1200萬元獎金還高。
ESPN頻道將實況轉播決賽，最後優勝者可獲特別設計的白金手鍊。曾八度榮獲金項鍊的撲克大王席德爾（Erik Seidel）、一家私立大學學貸公司執行長，以及一家證券交易公司執行長，都已承諾參加比賽。
